  • Does a new car need to be detailed?
Yes, definitely. Your question should be "What level of detail should my new car receive?" Despite this misconception, new cars have defects in paint or other surfaces. From the moment your car was completed at the factory to the point where you took delivery, it is likely that there are different defects around the vehicle. Dealerships will run vehicles through car washes to get the '10 foot shine' but that will not address the sublte inconsistencies within the paint. At Peace of Mind Detailing, we strive for a professionally done and thorough Paint Correction. This ensures that your vehicle is completely treated and leaves with a proper Showroom Shine. Furthermore, Peace of Mind can protect your new vehicles paint with a Ceramic Coating to take your vehicle to the next level in terms of shine and protection. Make sure to ask about our Paint Correction Service or a Ceramic Coating at your next booking!
  • What is the difference between a Mobile Detail and a car wash?
A mobile detail goes into much more depth than a car wash. Most car washes wash and dry the exterior and allow for a vacuum of the interior and thats it. Here at Peace of Mind, we go much further than that. We clean the nookies and crannies between your door jams, we restore headlights, we apply ceramic coatings to the exterior of vehicles, we wipe down and protect all the items on the interior, we remove smudging from windows and glass surfaces. It is tough to compare a car wash to a professional mobile detailing team like us when we really can't be compared in terms of level of detail. Book with us today and see the Peace of Mind difference!
  • What are swirl marks? How can they be removed?
Swirl marks are those fine scratches on car paint that you usually don’t notice until you get up close or light hits the surface of your car at the right angle. They’re not appealing to look at but, unfortunately, they’re a fact of life for most car owners. Swirl marks stand out the most on flat surfaces, such as the hood, roof, or trunk. On dark-colored cars, they will also show up on doors and fenders. Swirls aren’t as obvious on light-colored car paint because they reflect more light. A common misconception is that swirls are strictly circular in nature. But the fact is they can run in almost any direction – vertically, horizontally, and sideways. There’s only one way to remove swirl marks from car paint, and that’s to polish the paint with a buffer. You can buy products that will temporarily cover up swirl marks, but they don’t last very long and require frequent application. When we buff a car, we use a minimally abrasive polishers and buffing pad. After a buffing, the surface will look and feel silky and glossy. We finish by carefully applying a coat of wax, using a microfiber towel to wipe off the wax. Book with Peace of Mind to get rid of swirl marks leaving your car looking great! • What is a clay bar treatment? How much is a clay bar treatment?
A Clay Bar Treatment is the process of using a clay bar to remove containments from the surface of your car. Common containments that pollute and slowly destroy your vehicle's clear coat include things like rail dust, brake dust, industrial fallout, and other elements. These pollutants can penetrate paint, glass, and metal while still settling on those components even after several car washes and polishing. A clay bar treatment removes these harmful elements from a car's surface. In turn, this allows the car's clear coat to last longer, shine brighter, and offer more protection. Add a clay bar treatment to your next booking to see the difference!
